The Field
Out Beyond Ideas
Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
there is a field. I’ll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
the world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
doesn’t make any sense.Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi

Beyond the narratives of us and them, beyond the strident cries of Ego wanting to be “right” and make others “wrong”, there is a field.
What is this mysterious field the poet Rumi was writing about?
Is it a physical place, a grassy meadow under the stars?
Is it, perhaps, a field of consciousness?
A vibration we can inhabit, where we rise above conflict and see the bigger picture?
Once we experience this field, it’s a memory that will always stay with us.
One does not easily forget the taste of Cosmic Consciousness.
This higher state of consciousness is known by many names in many different traditions.
Illumination, Enlightenment, Christ Consciousness, Unity Consciousness, An Shin Ritsu-Mei, Sat-Chit-Ananda…
Could the poet Rumi have been pointing to this deep, esoteric truth – that in essence we are all one and this truth is not one that can be intellectualized with the mind but must be felt to be truly known?
We are one.
What we do to one, we do to all.
What you give out, comes back to you.
Let us love one another, and in doing so, love ourselves.
Out beyond ideas of rightdoing and wrongdoing, there is a field.
I’ll meet you there.
In light,
Krystle
